HALIFAX
Halifax is nestled in the foothills of the Pennines, West Yorkshire. It is well-known as a centre of England's woollen manufacture from the 15th century onward, originally dealing through the Halifax Piece Hall, which is a delightful example of Georgian architecture and has been serving Halifax for over 230 years. This unique space is now used for special events such as open-air concerts and cultural festivals.
A night out could possibly start with a visit to the Square Chapel, a thriving arts centre situated next to the station and one of the most remarkable buildings in West Yorkshire. Follow this with a trip to any one of the restaurants in the Town Centre, which provide cuisine from around the world.
The choice of evening entertainment ranges from a brass band performance in Halifax Minster, a family show at the Victoria, a visit to one of the thriving pubs and clubs or a live music event at the Piece Hall.
Halifax is situated close to a major motorway and has excellent bus and train routes from local larger towns. Being small and compact it is quick and easy to get around and there are many information boards with maps ensuring visitors feel welcome.

- The banning of outside drinking at any licensed premises ensures that noise and anti-social behaviour is kept to a minimum.
- The town is noteworthy for its cleanliness and lack of graffiti. This is implemented through excellent policies and procedures.
- There is an excellent working partnership between licensed premises and the regulatory authorities.
- The partnership working between the Street Angels, Marshals and the Police was very effective.
